§ 74-127. Service charge; monthly meter maintenance charge.

(a)

Starting May 1, 2010, forward, there shall be a monthly maintenance charge for each meter based on the meter size:

Any meter in excess of four inches shall be charged at a rate that will be determined at the time the water service is initiated.

(b)

The monthly service charges stated in subsection (a) of this section shall be waived by the village for a period of six months upon proof being submitted by the owner or occupant of the property serviced by the municipal water system that such party is currently receiving Medicaid. Proof, for the purpose of this section only, shall be established by the owner or occupant showing the proper and valid Medicaid card to the village clerk or village treasurer. The six-month discount period referred to in this subsection shall begin on the day the proof is submitted to the village and end on the last day of the six months thereafter. There shall be no prohibition on the number of successive six-month periods that an owner or occupant may be eligible for this discounted rate.
