§ 62-1. Definitions.

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Plans of the planning commission, the comprehensive plan, adopted segments of the comprehensive plan, adopted plans and plan mean plans adopted into law by the village board under 65 ILCS 5/11-12-4 et seq. and 5/11-13-1 et seq.

Subdivision means the initial division of a parcel of land into two or more parts, any of which parts is less than five acres, for the purpose of ownership, transfer or building development; or, if a new street is involved, any division of a parcel of land. The term includes any division of land that attempts to avoid the requirements of this chapter. Where appropriate to the context, the term shall relate to the process of subdividing or to the land subdivided.

Village board of trustees means the village board.

Village planning commission means the planning commission.
