§ 42-191. Discharging prohibited; exception.

It shall be unlawful to discharge any firearm or air gun in the village; provided that this section shall not be construed to prohibit any officer of the law from discharging a firearm in the performance of his duty, or any citizen from discharging any firearm when lawfully defending his person or property, or any citizen from discharging any firearm in conjunction with the hunting, taking or trapping of any animal pursuant to a validly issued permit from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources as provided for under section 18-6(b) of the Village Code of Ordinances.
