§ 34-61. Office created; appointment.

  • Pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/3.1-30-5, there is hereby created the office of chief of police. The office of chief of police shall be an appointed office with the appointment being made by the village president with the advice and consent of village board of trustees by a majority vote of those then holding office. Such appointment shall be made within the first month of each fiscal year. The person appointed chief of police shall serve a term of one year following the appointment and confirmation of such person.
