Pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/8-2-9.1, the office of the Village of Cherry Valley Budget Officer
is hereby created. The village president shall appoint/designate the budget officer,
with the approval of a majority of the corporate authorities. Such appointment shall
be made prior to the beginning of each fiscal year. The person appointed budget officer
shall serve a term of one year commencing the first day of the beginning of the fiscal
year following the appointment of such person.
The budget officer shall take an oath and post a bond as provided in 65 ILCS 5/3.1-10-25
of the Illinois Municipal Code. The budget officer may hold another village office,
either elected or appointed; however, if the president or mayor in a municipality
of 10,000 or less is also appointed the budget officer that officer may not be compensated
for both offices.
