§ 2-231. Office created; appointment.

Pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/3.1-30-5, there is hereby created the office of village attorney. The village attorney shall be appointed by the village president with the advice and consent of the village board of trustees by a majority vote of those then holding office. Such appointment shall be made within the first month of each fiscal year. The person or firm appointed village attorney shall serve a term of one year following the appointment and confirmation of such person.
