§ 2-201. Office created; appointment.

Pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/3.1-15-5, there is hereby created the office of a village clerk. Further, pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/3.1-25-90, the office of village clerk shall be an appointed office with the appointment being made by the village president with the concurrence of the village board of trustees by a majority vote of those then holding office. Such appointment shall be made within the first month of each fiscal year. The person appointed village clerk shall serve a term of one year following the appointment and confirmation of such person.
